NOT ANOTHER “SOCIAL” NETWORK. PROMISE.
You need this person’s name, and how you know them, quickly & right when you need it
Now multiply that by every other almost-friend who’ll be at the same event. What about the other parent from carpool, the neighbor you’ve waved at for years, the guy from the reunion group chat?
Hunohu gives every one of them a face, a name, and the one detail that actually matters: how you know each other. What should take seconds…takes seconds.
No feed. No followers. No likes. Just faces, names, and why you know them.
Speaking of which…
SOUND FAMILIAR?
You’re not bad with names. You just have too many almost-friends.
Every single one of these has happened. Probably this month.
You wave. They wave back. Neither of you has said an actual name out loud in three years.
You ask your spouse to check the class list before the holiday party. Every single year.
Two dads named Dave. You’ve been nodding at both since September, unsure which is which.
You know exactly which house the dog lives at. The humans attached to it, less so.
Someone says “see you at Emma’s party!” and you have absolutely no idea whose parent that is.
The group text has thirty names in it. You can match maybe six of them to an actual face.
Not strangers. Not besties either…That’s possible for adults.
There’s a real gap between “stranger” and “friend. It’s full of people and you just want their name…
Maybe you left social media entirely. Maybe you kept it, just for the people who actually get a say in your life. Either way, these other people aren’t that. You don’t need their opinions on breakfast or politics. They don’t need yours. You just want enough to be normal when you next see them…
…and maybe, someday, on its own terms, that turns into something more.
WHAT YOU DON’T WANT
Their breakfast menu, their politics, their whole life story
Them knowing everything you’re up to either
An algorithm deciding you two should be “friends”
A permanent record you can’t quietly step back from
Randos, creepers, ads, feeling bad about yourself (and humanity)
WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT
A name, a face, how you actually know each other (quickly)
A way to say hello when you genuinely need to
Room for an actual friendship, not a Meta friendship
Nothing more than that, unless you choose it
To get on with your life
AWKWARD FOR YOU. AKWARD FOR THEM.
So you wrack your brain and end up saying weird stuff anyway…
…until some awesome person solves the problem.
THE WHOLE APP, HONESTLY
They jump on Hunohu. That’s the entire trick.
A parent, a neighbor, whoever’s organizing the reunion…somebody who already has the group in mind does everyone a favor and starts a circle. Here’s the complete feature list of what happens inside it:
A Headshot
A Name
A simple way to message exactly who you want quickly
That’s genuinely all there is to do.
No ads
No data for sale
No suggested friends
No popularity contest
No pressure to post, ever
No distraction
No fraud
No political nonsense
No AI slop
HOW YOU ACTUALLY CONNECT
Every circle boils down to two questions: who’s in it, and how are they connected?
A parent, a neighbor, whoever’s organizing the reunion…somebody who already has the group in mind does everyone a favor and starts a circle. Here’s the complete feature list of what happens inside it:
Real example: Room 12 โ Ms. Alvarez
Two Connected Groups
That’s the whole point of the split: spot a parent at pickup, and you already know which kid is theirs โ whether it’s one parent or all four, mom, dad, stepmom, and stepdad. No more guessing who belongs to who, or asking someone else to sort out the family tree for you.
Real example: Cedar Lane block party
A Shared Place
This is the shape for an HOA, a block party, any street where you’d actually like to know your neighbors. List the addresses, and everyone connects themselves to their own home โ one person, a couple, a family of five, it doesn’t matter. Someone waves as they pass your porch, and you already know exactly which house they belong to.
Real example: Lincoln High โ Class of 2010
One Flat Group
This is the shape for any group where the connection is just “we were or are all there” โ a graduating class, a seminar’s attendees, a local government committee, a wedding party. Nobody’s more central than anyone else, so there’s nothing to link to. Just one circle, everyone already equal inside it.
LET’S COMPARE
How do you handle “being social” appropriately?
There are three ways people try to solve this today. Winging it fails the actual job. Social media does the job by force-friending you into something you never wanted. Hunohu just does the job.
| Winging It |
Social Media |
Hunohu | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remembers the name before the awkward silence | Nope | Not its job | Yes |
| Tells you how you know each other | Good luck | Nope | Always |
| Makes you "friends" with people you’re not actually friends with | N/A | Constantly | Never |
| Shows you ads | No | Yes | No |
| Sells your data | No | Yes | No |
| Raises cortisol | Yes | Yes | No |
You don’t need a curated history to remember a name (or get reminded).
They don’t need yours either.
Just a quick way to refresh your memory and send a simple message…nothing more, nothing less.
Frequently Asked Questions
Hunohu is free to join as a circle member. Administrators of multiple and large circles pay a small fee.
Sort of. Hunohu aligns more with norms of socialization before MySpace, FaceBoook, etc. and any current Mark Zuckerberg holding. Circles don’t force anyone to claim to be friends. They do allow communication in a very limited way and without all the cortisol…and that’s the whole point.
No. The business model is not about collecting data to drive targeted advertising. Hunoho is free for most people, who share hardly any data, and only way it makes money is small fees charged to the people who create large and multiple circles.
No. If you want other people in your cicles to see any of those, you can toggle them to visible. There is no concept of a public profile outside of circle in which you have membership. You may also just share those via chat so only the people you want to be able to contact you separately can see them.
